The Courage to Be Great

Updated: Sep 6, 2019

I started to panic, when my business started to take off. I started hearing nagging voices in my head. Those voices that ask, how are you going to keep up? This is going to become too much…remember you’re still working your 9 – 5. You’re tired, is it worth it…. You know those voices that never have anything good to say.

You see, I’ve heard those voice in my head before. This isn’t the first major life altering moment in my life that I’ve ever wanted to pursue. I wanted to be a doctor. A pediatrician to be exact. I wanted to save the babies. But, as I started to take more and more science and math classes…I kept hearing those voices in my head, telling me I wasn’t smart enough. Those voices in my head asked me, "Who do you think you are…a doctor?". That’ll never happen.

In order to succeed and transform, we need to learn how to fight those voices. Those demons serve only one purpose, and that is to hold us down and keep us back from our greatness. Ninety percent of the people on this earth will never reach their full potential, most because they listened to those voices in their head.

Most people wake up with worries and negative thoughts. Before they put foot to floor we start to hear those voices. We hear, aww man, I don’t want to get up. Aww, man do I really have to go to work today? Aww, man…is that rain? It’s those same voices that tell you to hit the snooze button every morning.

But, in order to be awesome and set your life on fire, you have to be willing and able to tell those voices to go sit in the corner. You must be able to tell those voices…I got this, you’re not needed right now.

You have to believe that you deserve to be great. Believe that you are capable of achieving your goals…and crushing them. Stop fearing greatness! I had a friend tell me, fear is death. You see...what fear does is it keeps you from living. Fear keeps you from growing past OK…to awesome. I still get afraid sometimes, but now I know how to fight it. I use my fear to drive me, and I will no longer allow fear to destroy my dreams. I am determined…and motivated.

Life is too short to let fear make decisions for you.
